Picture Perfect Finance Resumes
We’ve all heard the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words. I think this is especially true for resumes in the finance industry where financial performance data can render attention-getting and information-rich graphs.
Visual elements can be incorporated into the document to quickly show the impact you had on the organization.
And since most hiring authorities don’t really read resumes, but rather scan them to see what information “pops”, doesn’t it make sense to make it easier to find that information that is going to wow them by adding a graphic representation of your efforts?
Finance professionals in particular tend to shy away from design elements in a resume, fearing that something that looks a bit different will not be taken seriously by decision makers. But charts and graphs can add sophistication to your document and better differentiate you from your competitors.
Below are a few examples of how visuals can be used to quickly get your point across and engage hiring managers.
Catapulted financial advisory services revenue 205% (from $700,000 to $1.5M) in first year, and 714% in five years to $7M.
Reversed 34% decline in product profits to an increase of 21.5% with hundreds of thousands of dollars in new revenues and gross margins exceeding 87% by analyzing cost-bleeding, restructuring the operation, and off-shoring production.
Catapulted financial advisory services revenue 205% (from $700,000 to $1.5M) in first year, and 714% in five years to $7M.
Bottom Line:
Making your resume stand out is particularly important in a competitive job market. Adding relevant graphs can help bring your accomplishments to the attention of the recruiters and hiring managers as well as differentiating your resume from the others.
