Excellent. I worked a job fair this past summer. I repeatedly heard vague, non-descript responses to "What do you do? What are your talents?" questions. A little time spent crafting a sound introduction would differentiate a job seeker from the masses almost immediately. If ajob seeker can't articulate goals and skills, it makes for a difficult search process.

Brilliant article! So true. Jobseekers need to Focus Focus Focus! Eliminate cliches, forget about spreading yourself thin by applying for everything. Truth is, we are all attractive to a niche market. Nobody is a doctor, plumber, lawyer, horticulturalist and waiter. We all have a certain set of skills that are attractive to a certain market. Having a "general" resume is just eliminating your target market!
