Job-Hunt is
organized into categories to make it easy to find what you want.
Select the category that most interests you by clicking on the category
name (e.g. Sales and Marketing), and
you will find carefully-selected Web sites appropriate for the category,
in alphabetical order by site name. We also have sites that specialize
in a particular geographic area, like a state
or a country outside of the U.S.

Finding
Sites within a Category:
When you are on
the category page, read the site descriptions, and pick a Web site
which seems to have the kind of jobs which interest you. (Note: we
try to keep all descriptions up to date, but sites change, even disappear,
without notice). Don't forget to look through the Employment
Super Sites and the State or International
listings for sites which may have good opportunities for you.
Select the interesting
Web sites by:
- Scrolling
down the list of Web sites until you find one that interests you,
or
- Start at
the first site in the listing and methodically check out each
one after that, sequentially. This may not be the most effective
method because the lists are all in alphabetical order and the
"best" site for you may be at the end of the list, but it is the
most thorough.
- Using your
browser's Page Search
capability -- usually, under "Edit » Find (on this
page)", described in detail below
-- type in your keywords to find Web sites with the particular
focus, like profession or geography, that you want. This search
will search only through the titles and descriptions on the page,
not in each site linked to the page.
- Click on
the link for that Web site, which is usually the name of the Web
site (underlined and colored blue, if you haven't visited it yet).
If Job-Hunt.Org
does not have a category for your area of interest or the category
doesn't have what you want, check a category which seems related.
Visit the "General" category
and search using the "Page Search"
process (below).
When you are
at the Web site you have selected, look for "Job Search" or "Search
Our Listings" or some other term which would describe the location
of the jobs listed at that Web site.
Once you find
a site that seems to offer the kind of jobs that interest you, check
out Job-Hunt's Choosing a Job Site
section to help you evaluate the site as a place to trust with your
resume. In general, be cautious of sites which require you
to "register" before they let you look at the jobs they
have listed. It is in your best interest to Protect
Your Privacy! Be selective; there are thousands of
job sites!
To
Top of Page
- Position
your computer's cursor at the top of the page to be searched so
that the browser starts searching at the page's top.
- Click on
the word "EDIT" in the line of menu choice words at the very
top of your browser.
- Select "FIND
IN PAGE" or "Find (on this page)" or a similar option from the
drop-down list.
- Type your
search term into the dialog box that opens.
- Click on
"FIND NEXT" or "OK" and the browser will highlight your search
term in the page contents, if it finds them there.
- Repeat until
the browser no longer finds the term on the page.
NOTE:
To search an entire Web page, you must start at the very
top of that page because the browser cannot find search
terms above the starting point of your search.
If your search
term is not found, try another one or us an abbreviation (like
"telecom" for "telecommunications"). Or, try another category.
PC users
can use Control-F to replace steps 2 and 3.

Home.
