Nature of Work

Telecom equipment installers who work at switching hubs install the routers, switches and cables. Switchers and routers amplify process and transmit a huge amount of information. Telecom equip operators use their technical skills to maintain such equipments. They also look into problems involving these complex technical systems and help solve them.

Telecom equipment installers usually work in clean environments. They are required to travel to the place where telecom equipments need installing . The installation may need them to climb on top of roofs and telephone poles. They are susceptible to falls, electrical shocks and injuries and one needs to take adequate safety measures to prevent them. They usually have normal work hours.


Area Job Conditions

Telecom equipment installers are relatively common in Taunton (Massachusetts), Eau Claire (Wisconsin), and Lubbock (Texas). They are rarer in Fort Smith (Arkansas), Killeen (Texas), and Sarasota (Florida).
