Non retail sales clerk supervisors direct and supervise the workers involved with sales. They manage inventory and settle receipts, while helping their staff finish difficult assignments. They work with senior officials in the company in order to arrive at methods to improve a company’s sales. They maintain records related to sales, purchases and requisitions. They are instrumental in formulating the pricing policies of goods. They may also be responsible for leasing machines and tools. They listen to and resolve customer problems and coordinate activities for sales promotions. They also prepare product displays and copies for advertisement. They plan the work schedules of employees and even hire, train and evaluate new recruits in marketing and sales.

Non retail sales clerk supervisors generally work in an office environment while handling responsibilities like preparing work schedules, making sales and promotion plans with seniors and assessing the performance of workers. They may also have to supervise sales clerks and provide them with on the job training.
