Financial managers oversee the financial activities and transactions of organizations. They're involved with income statements, budgets and balance sheets, and the monitoring of cash flow. Financial managers oversee accounting and auditing.
Financial Managers Schools and Degrees
Many colleges and universities provide degrees in accounting, finance, economics and business administration. Valuable courses include budgeting, accounting, management, financial reporting and cash flow management.
Job Requirements
Most financial managers need to have at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or business administration. However, many employers prefer applicants that have a master's degree in one of these subjects.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts an eight percent job growth for financial managers from 2008 to 2018 which is as fast as the average for all occupations.

Area Job Conditions Popular locations for financial managers include Bridgeport (Connecticut), Cleveland (Tennessee), and Hartford (Connecticut).
