Many colleges and universities provide degrees in accounting, finance, economics and business administration. Valuable courses include budgeting, accounting, management, financial reporting and cash flow management.

Most financial managers need to have at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or business administration. However, many employers prefer applicants that have a master's degree in one of these subjects.
