Guide to Career Change

While assesments can be a critical part in picking the career that fits best with your personality and abilities, assessments should also help you understand how you relate to the important people in your job search, from recruiters to interviewers to potential co-workers. As you will see, your preferences even impact how you conduct your job search.

Although no assessment is perfect, their value is in helping you understand a bit more about yourself.  By understanding more about yourself, you should be able to make better decisions regarding your career and how you interact with people you meet in your job search.

Unfortunately, choosing, understanding, and appropriately interpreting assessments is not as simple as we might wish.  Many "instruments" are available, with varying degrees of complexity, validity, and applicability.

In this section of Job-Hunt, Susan Guarneri, the Assessment Goddess, will help you understand your options and how to effectively use career assessments to choose the best career for you as well as understanding how your personal style impacts your job search.  And what you may be able to do about that.
